Sound Strategies for Sustainable
Communities
Urban Revitalization
Urban
revitalization efforts seek to enhance the quality of
life in urban places and enhance their appeal to a diversity of
residents and employers.
Such initiatives typically engage residents and local government in
planning
for and managing neighborhood growth and change, which may include
designing pedestrian-friendly, transit-oriented commercial
districts, providing
new
homeownership opportunities for a range of income groups, exploring the
possibilities of public/private partnerships, and leveraging the impact
of arts and cultural institutions to create an attractive urban
environment.
Our urban revitalization work
features
articles, reports, and other publications that highlight opportunities
for neighborhood
renewal as well as showcase successful community revitalization
efforts.
