Deborah
L. Myerson, AICP
Principal
Deborah L. Myerson is
an urban planner with fourteen years of professional experience in
planning and development. Her expertise includes community design,
smart growth, land use/transportation policy and planning, historic
preservation, urban revitalization, and housing.
Ms. Myerson has worked
closely with local and national scenic byways and heritage corridors
around the country to help them reap the benefits of designation. She
has spoken widely to local and national audiences on scenic byways
topics and authored or co-authored several publications for scenic
byway communities.
Prior to establishing
her own independent consulting firm, Ms. Myerson worked for the Urban
Land Institute, a nonprofit research and education organization based
in Washington, DC. As a senior associate with ULI’s land use
policy group, Ms. Myerson managed research, education, outreach and
advisory services projects in land use policy and real estate,
including environmental policy, urban development, smart growth, and
housing policy.
Previously, Ms.
Myerson was director of programs at Scenic America, a national
nonprofit conservation organization headquartered in Washington, DC. At
Scenic America, Ms. Myerson directed national programs and authored
publications on scenic byways, context-sensitive highway design, sign
control, wireless tower siting, and other program initiatives aimed at
improving visual quality in land use and transportation.
Ms. Myerson is a
member of the American Institute of Certified Planners. She earned a
Master of Regional Planning degree from Cornell University and a B.A.
from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
